Welcome to Castello di Valbona, a piece of history, culture, identity of the community that hosts us. It contains an interactive exhibition on the topic:
From the strength against the neighbours,
to the strength towards the territory for a healthy and cultivable environment.
Seven centuries in Valbona.
The exhibition is divided into two paths:
- one for the largest, which deals with military architecture, its application for the
reclamation introduced by the Serenissima in the mid-fifteenth century,
to sanitary and agricultural innovations, to cross the period of the Lombard-Venetian
Kingdom, to arrive at the Opera dei Congresses, up to the systematic introduction
of chemistry in the Second World War.
- the other for the little ones, where they are almost taken by the hand by characters
who in the last nine centuries have been linked to the castle or its surroundings.
From the Crusades to the present day, the little guests hear the story of their older
brothers from the past; they examine their weapons and armor, trying them on, feeling their
weight and perceiving the real hard life of the soldier and his sacrifices, but also of
the scientist and explorer.
Both paths give tactile or in any case multisensory experiences, because the objects on display
can be touched, tried on or worn.
Some of the texts and images are on display, some are accessible via smartphone, by downloading
the free app, with in-depth information, quizzes and learning tests, full of fun achievements
and with the possibility of winning prizes.
The exhibition itineraries are constantly evolving, being enriched with objects, modified along
the way and seeing the texts implemented, so returning to Valbona definitely means finding
and trying something new, every time.
The visit is free, since it is believed that the knowledge of history and culture in general
contribute to making us and consolidating us civilized people, responsible towards ourselves,
towards others, towards the environment that hosts us, aware of our Identity.
The sensitivity of each is left to make a responsible offer on the assumption that everything
that arrives at the castle is reinvested here for the maintenance and improvement of the
monument for the benefit of the next visitors and, we hope, of future generations.
